Guantanamo, ( Venceremos) –-Not for too much repeating it is rhetorical. The Cuban Revolution is an unfinished project in the search of socialism, it was thought from and for the highest rights of men and women. So confirms Jose Sanchez Guerra, Guantanamo City Historian.

Jose Sanchez Guerra, Guantanamo City Historian.

For the researcher the anti-Cuba media campaign, launched after the European Parliament’s vote for a resolution condemning Cuba for supposed violations of the Human rights, “is a submission of these countries towards the powerful United States, combined with common ideology and economical interests”.

He says also, this prove their ignorance about the Cuban history, and more specifically, the revolutionary process.

“The History will Absolve me (La Historia me Absolverá) stated a program which fundamental nature was the benefit of the population, that is to say, the doctrines of the Revolution had premises in the human conditions, even before the triumph. After 1959, the economical, political and social essence has been, consequently, humanitarian”, he explains.

That, he highlights, “is the work of the Revolution, known by Cubans and part of the world. Of course, we could not analyze this country with out taking into account the fight against the United States as a constant in the Cuban life and politics that has generated impacts in the international and national influence of the Revolution.

“Only last month five journalist were killed in Honduras, after the coup d’état to Manuel Zelaya, the constitutional president of that Central American country; several European nations offered their bases and still give access to their air space for the transportation of prisoners in the crusade against terrorism, persons that are put in prison and tortured without judicial process, without evidence, with nothing.

“The United States kept several European citizens in the jail they have in the illegal Guantanamo base under the same conditions they keep the rest of their prisoners, and I heard not many conflicts about that”, he reminds.

“Cuba is not a perfect society, in fact, there are many things to be improved; but in this world of injustice, is one of the countries that most respect the human rights”, ended the historian.
