China to Hold Drills in New Combat Techniques

Beijing, May 29 (Prensa Latina) China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) announced today that for the first time it will be holding drills in new combat techniques, including digital technologies applied to special forces, those with electronic response and military aviation.

According to reports by the General Staff published by the press, the PLA plans to hold the drills by late June at the Zhurihe training base, north of the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia.

The units chosen for these maneuvers come from corps 38 and 68 of the PLA Military Command in Beijing.

Meanwhile, the People’s Newspaper reported the results of a training course for border disarmament inspectors, attended by China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Luo Yongbin, deputy director of the Department of Border and Ocean Affairs at the Foreign Affairs Ministry emphasized that disarmament on China’s borders with the four countries strengthens confidence and cooperation between military forces and maintains peace and stability.

This three-day seminar is aimed at standardizing disarmament inspections and strengthening the capacity and quality of its officials.
